An 18-hole golf course at an altitude of 2100 m? A slightly crazy challenge set in the late 1960s (creation of the course’s first 9 holes), which became a reality in the early 1990s (the addition of 9 further holes), and which has continued to be met with flying colours every summer since. While the players’ smiles say it all at the end of the course, it’s thanks to a team of enthusiasts who roll up their sleeves every spring to breathe life into the highest 18-hole course in Europe after a snowy winter! A huge challenge, quite different to the everyday life of golf courses in the valley.

Conversation with Benjamin Ravanel, founder of the important Ravach Parks organisation, who has worked on the construction of the Tignes superpipe every year since 2010 for major international competitions.

In 15 years, Jean-Michel Bouvier’s restaurant has become the place to go for foodies in Tignes. Founder of the Chalet Bouvier restaurant (he took up the reins again with his daughter in the autumn of 2017), before opening La Table en Montagne and mountain restaurant, Le Panoramic, this devotee of great local produce flies through each season at 100 miles an hour!

During the various sporting events organised in the resort of Tignes, it is always necessary to decide between the competitors. To do this, judges are called upon to give a verdict, to distribute the points and scores which will then allow a ranking to be established and thus to designate the winner of the event. How are the athletes judged? Who are the judges in charge of this shadowy mission that is so crucial to any sporting event? You are familiar with their role as ski patrollers, but did you know that the team of 58 ski patrollers in the resort are also responsible for making the Tignes ski area safe?
